Are we witnessing the emergence of farming design? The Farmer Designers exhibition presented at the MADD, Bordeaux looks at these practices aimed at solving the problems of farmers and streamlining their practices: nourishing while regenerating soils and ecosystems rather than exploiting them, redefining the modes of production of food, responding to upheavals in biodiversity and climate... It shows a reinvented agriculture, committed to facing upheavals in biodiversity and climate, which no longer responds to a single model adaptable for all, but brings together unique contextual practices, united around the notion of peasant agroecology.
Engineers, designers, botanists, artists, farmers and poets question the invention of a new culture which places humans at the heart of new alliances with nature, and repositions them as one of the links of life alongside animated beings, plants and animals. A culture in which Man respects nature, and which confers high status on the person who cultivates it, the farmer.
