  • Nestor Perkal is a versatile artist who has multiplied his activities since the 1970s. A designer of furniture, objects and lighting, and an interior designer, scenographer, exhibition curator and artistic director, his experience, expertise and research have spanned more than 45 years. This first monograph aims to transcribe this extraordinary journey in the most exhaustive way possible.

Nestor Perkal left his native Argentina in 1978, as a new graduate, to settle in France, where he thrived. Initially he worked in Paris as an independent designer, where he opened several galleries, while publishing his own pieces of furniture. These were presented in 1985 at the “Living in Colors” exhibition at the Cartier Foundation.

Subsequently, in Limoges, became the director of Craft, a research center specializing in the arts of fire and earth.

An artistic community emerged around him. He maintained loyal relationships with a number of creators, designers, artists, and also manufacturers, sponsors and collectors. For almost ten years, for example, he worked with the photographer Didier Cazabon. Artistically enriched by these experiences, which led him to develop his different practices, Nestor Perkal has forged a coherent expertise in keeping with his time.

He has played and continues to play an essential role in the promotion and production of contemporary designers, architects and artists.
