Industrial designer Michel Buffet embodies the aesthetics, shapes and colors of Les
.In charge of the development of numerous planes within Raymond Loewy's IEC, from the Falcon 20 to the Concorde, and that of trains, of the Caracas metro, and of the concept of the Shell group's service stations, Michel Buffet reinvented a true art of living in the transport sector, which he developed from 1985 with his company, Vector Design Industriel.
A furniture designer, he notably designed a modular kitchen, the DF 2000, praised by the Italian magazine Domus. The reflector lighting fixtures he created in the 1950s, initially produced by Luminalite and Robert Mathieu, have, thanks to their curved shapes and delicate bases, become classics reissued by Lignes de Démarcation. As Alain Fleischer points out in the preface to this work, Michel Buffet created "lighting devices which diffuse 'intelligent' light, at the same time as they are themselves plastic works in volume".
