An artist of French origin, since the 1960s Nicola L. lived between Paris and New York, where she eventually settled in 1979. In this city at the forefront of artistic movements, she found an atmosphere in keeping with her work: Penetrables and performances from the 60s, Red Coat from May '68, dismembered bodies born from her revolt against the Vietnam War, which found embodiment in sculpture-objects of vinyl, wood or Plexiglas. Joyfully colorful, using new materials and new forms, Nicola L.'s work is today a humanist invitation to live differently, in a poetic world which denounces the overly sclerotic social practices of our daily lives. From now on, everything becomes a matter of meetings, of traveling companions, of commitments of all kinds, with a backdrop of generosity, which makes nomadism the standard of a future mode where freedom rhymes with fantasy. Exhibited around the world, her works were presented in France in the '60s and '70s at the Templon gallery and the Germain gallery.
